A mum from Houston, Texas, has lots more than seven stone she put on during pregnancy after finding out that her cheating husband and his lover were called her “fat”. The 34 year old was 18st 7lb at her heaviest, after she gave birth to her daugther Isabella three years ago.

Just six months after giving birth, Ms Ayala found out that her now ex husband was cheating on her, finding several messages he sent to his lover which referred to her being overweight. However, rather than letting what had happened break her, she vowed to get into shape, swapping sugary snacks for health shakes.

The single mother now goes to the gym six times a week, and is a slimmed down version of herself, now weighing 11st 3lbs. She says that her husband having an affair actually turned out to be a blessing as she has been able to have a fresh start.

Turned her life around

Ms Ayala said: “I didn’t know what to do with myself at the time. I was still over 200lbs with a 6-month-old and everything that I had worked for had just vanished. Now I honestly feel that what he did was a blessing because otherwise I would have been the way I was forever.”

She said that she used to cry after every workout, but now she has totally changed her life around because she wanted her daughter to be proud of her. Ms Ayala said that she has always struggled with her weight, having gone on her first diet at the age of just 13.

The determined mother said that she was always chubby at school and got bulled because of her weight. She said she would then eat because she was so anxious and it became something of a vicious circle. At college, she weighed 210lbs and, by the time she had her daughter, she tipped the scales at 262lbs.
